About Private and Small Group Yoga

Yoga practice is, ultimately, personal. No two bodies or life stories are the same, and our goals and movement therapy should be equally unique. I believe that yoga is meant for everyone; my students are of all ages, experience levels, and walks of life.

Getting personalized attention and cultivating a yoga practice that’s tailor-made to your needs can change everything. Whether it’s a restorative practice or a sweaty flow, your private yoga lesson is created with your history and your goals in mind.

Our work could be one-on-one, a duo, or a small group. Yoga sessions can take place in-person in Asheville or online. Get in touch and we’ll work together to figure it out.

FAQs

  • Private yoga is great for anyone looking for a more personalized experience than a group or online class. This includes (but certainly isn’t limited to) individuals working with particular physical needs; folks with difficult schedules; newcomers; or those who simply want a set of extra eyes on their practice.

Some people practice one-on-one, while others include family members, friends, and partners as part of the session.

  • Before our first meeting, I’ll learn about your needs, goals, preferences, history — as much or as little as you’re comfortable sharing. I’ve also consulted with PTs, therapists, and other professionals to make sure that your yoga supports and complements any other work you’re doing, physical or otherwise.

I’ll also share with you how I approach the work and answer any of your questions. If it sounds like a fit, we’ll find time and place to meet.

If we decide to meet regularly, the practice will evolve and grow to match and support your needs.

  • I most frequently see clients in their homes or space of their choice for private yoga. We may also rent a yoga studio space in Asheville if preferred (cost will apply). Online sessions take place on Zoom or FaceTime.

  • For sure! I teach private yoga sessions online via Zoom or FaceTime. I also schedule online sessions for my in-person students when they are traveling. Wherever you are, we are able to practice together.

  • My students range from their teens to their eighties. I teach couples, friend groups, and families. I’ve taught elite athletes, folks rehabbing from injury, and people living with serious illness. Students come from all walks of life: CEOs, educators, Pulitzer Prize winners, academics, and wandering retirees. If you’re willing to show up on the mat and work together, you’re my type of student.

  • Your private yoga session is designed for you in mind; no two sessions are exactly the same. Before we meet, I’ll learn a bit about you and your experience. Then we’ll work together based on your needs, preferences, and goals.

Depending on the client and the day, yoga practice may include active sequences, mobility work, restorative shapes… or some combination therein.
